We’re all too familiar with the old marketing adage: “Nothing begets creativity more than constraints.” And it’s true- every day at work, we’re surrounded by so many different restrictions- be it from our stern, unbending managers, or personal mental barriers- that we find ourselves pushing away some of our most original, craziest ideas before they even have a chance to hit the drawing board.

Sometimes, however, there comes a few groundbreaking ideas that not only would have sounded completely and utterly insane in their first marketing proposals- but in the case of these upcoming examples- actually succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. Ikea kicked off 2018 with an ad that had one of the weirdest requests for their female customers.

The ad’s bold headline states: “Peeing on this ad could change your life.”
